In 2013, the Presto Preservation Association received a $2,000 matching grant from the Idaho Heritage Trust to assist with restoration of a large US map. The map, which was printed in 1887, had been mounted to the hallway wall ever since the Nels and Emma house was built, in 1887. Over the years it became a treasured conversation piece for the family, and for people getting mail at the Presto Post Office, which was located in the house for about 20 years starting in 1890.
Family members, along with textile expert Diana Dicus and her husband Ben, removed the map from the wall on April 29, 2013 and prepared it for shipping to New York City, where it was restored.
In 2014 and 2015 the map was exhibited at the Idaho State Historical Archives, the Idaho Statehouse, Boise Public Library, Blackfoot Public Library, and the Eastern Idaho State Fair.
